Batting Selection

  • Winline 100% Bamboo

    • This is our favorite! The drape and loft on this is amazing! If you are wanting great definition of your quilting design, this is a great batting choice. A natural fiber made from renewable resources, durable, antibacterial, breathable, and thin scrim to prevent stretching and bunching. Manufactured with antibacterial green manufacturing process. 3-5% shrinkage.

    • 96" wide ---------$14.99 yard

  • Warm 80/20

    • Completely clean, natural cotton fiber blended with new-pillow soft, resilient polyester fibers, evenly layered and needle punched into a lightweight, stable 100% cotton scrim.  The Warm Company's needle punching process ensures there is zero resins or glue in your batting.  You can anticipate 3% shrinkage in the first wash using cold water.  If you have liked other 80/20 products in the market in the past, you will like this product even more!

    • 110" wide -------- $13.99 yard

  • Warm and Plush

    • 100% luxury loft natural cotton batting – no scrim.  50% more lightly needled cotton!  Perfect for achieving dimension an, showing off the quilting!  This cotton undergoes an added mechanical cleaning process that opens the cotton tumbling out all of the leaf and stem remnants.  Warm and Plush is the heaviest weight, loftiest, 100% cotton batting on the market today! The added weight of this batting can make it ideal for those loved ones who can never seem to get warm!

    • 90” Wide ---------- $11.99 yard

  • Warm and Natural

    • Preferred batting among quilters world-wide, highest grade, 100% natural cotton fibers grown in the USA are needle punch through a strong, very thin poly-propylene scrim, securing the fiber together without glue. This soft, natural cotton has never been washed or bleached with harsh chemicals. It is kinder to the environment and kinder to your batting. If washed in cold water, you can anticipate 3% shrinkage on the first wash.  To achieve an antique puckered look wash on warm water for 5% shrinkage.

      • 90” Wide ------------- $10.99 yard

      • 124” Wide ------------$13.99 yard

  • Warm and White

    • Everything quilters love about Warm & Natural, using purified cotton fiber.  The special method used to whiten the cotton singles out and washes each fiber in a propriety process and gentle hydrogen peroxide.  Quilters enjoy hypoallergencic, pharmaceutical grade purity perfect for the most vulnerable among us!  Ideal for use with light pastels and tone-on-a tone fabrics with no natural color to peek through. If you are familiar with Warm and Natural, the weight is the same (4 oz per sq. yard).  However, Warm and White will feel thinner due to the cleaning process.  Like Warm and Natural, this batting is needle-punched so you will not have batting separation or bunching. There will be little to no shrinkage in cold or warm water after quilting. So if you are seeking a finished quilt that remains pristine without puckering around your quilt lines, this will be a great choice.

      • 90” Wide ----------$11.99 yard

Why is quality batting important?

It is important that a quality batting be used in your quilt to ensure its longevity and to allow for the beautiful texture that quilting provides.  Even though you believe you may be purchasing the batting from the big box store of the same brand, it is not of the same high quality; it is a second.  It is important for my ease in quilting and to enable me to offer you amazing results, that we use quality batting. For this reason, I have carefully selected battings for you and offer them at reduced prices directly from the factory. For Warm products, I avoid shipping charges by picking up from the factory.  This allows me to pass the savings on to you, keeping your batting charges low.

In a further effort to keep your batting charges low and avoid waste, I charge batting by the inch. So while I quote the price above by the yard (since that is what we are all familiar with), you will be charged by the inch.

Determine the price of the quilting with this formula:

Quilt length ______ multiplied by Quilt width = ______ square inch.  Multiply your square inch by my quilting rate (either .02 or .03 - remember there is a $50 minimum) = $ _______ price for quilting.

(Batting is additional, thread is included, squaring of your quilt is offered at $7.00 flat fee regardless quilt size)
